Leadership

Are you a leader?

Stay with me because I say you are.

For most of us, when we think of leaders, we think of titles in the workplace or big names in the news. Thought leaders, visionaries, those who have impacted the world through their actions.

But leadership is a verb, not a noun. And I say we all have what it takes.

Right now, more than ever, the world needs leaders. And your first task (if you choose to accept it) is to be willing to lead yourself. Get out the magic mirror. Not the one you use to pluck the hairs on your chin, but the one that will help you gain awareness of your current thoughts, feelings and actions. Where are you currently on the Richter scale? (yes, I do live in CA)

Be honest! Do you need to do a little mental housecleaning? A little organization of your thoughts? Figure out where you are starting from and then decide where you want to be. What do you need to do in order to get from here to there?

Leaders look at each day as an opportunity to get better. They value humility and clarity and are always looking to become a better version of themselves. They strive for consistency and they know that they must always be willing to walk their talk.

None of it is easy, but the good stuff rarely is. This is our chance people and yes, you can do it.

Our kids need us to be leaders. Our friends, families and communities need us to be leaders. And the world right now? Well, that goes without saying.
